Paradise resident told to clean it up
By Mark Squibb
Rookie councillor Sheldon Antle brought forward his first motion for debate during the public council meeting of October 15, the first meeting of the newly elected council.
The motion was to confirm an earlier order of the Town directing a resident of Willow Drive to remove dilapidated vehicles and debris from the property.
Councillor Tommy Maher declared a potential conflict of interest as he had given the resident a quote to demolish the property and so refrained from voting.
The motion was seconded by Deputy Mayor Kimberley Street, and council – minus Maher –approved it unanimously,
Other than the election of deputy mayor and appointment of council committee leads, the motion was the lone piece of Town business conducted during the meeting.
