Paradise council this week approved 1297 Topsail Road, the home of Capital Home Building Centre, for use as a temporary film set.
“An application has been received for a temporary television filming studio and associated use of recreational vehicles at 1297 Topsail Road,” said Deputy Mayor Kimberley Street. “The proposal involves the filming of a television series and requires the use of recreational vehicles to provide accommodations for cast and crew. The studio will be in operation until the end of September 2023.”
Council approved the application, subject to 10 conditions, unanimously, save Councillor Glen Carew, who declared a potential conflict of interest as he has a business relationship with the owners of the property, and thus did not vote on the matter.
Mayor Dan Bobbett said he was pleased with the motion, and that it would benefit the economy of the town.
