CBS lets second part of Topsail Beach playground work

By Craig Westcott

The Town of CBS has awarded the second part of a contract to refurbish the children’s playground at Topsail Beach Park.
Coastline Specialties Ltd., which won the contract a month or so ago to supply and install the playground equipment for the park, will also install the rubber surface for the playground, a job valued at some $140,125.
Councillor Gerard Tilley noted the new playground will have inclusive features for children with physical and other challenges.
The supply and installation of the playground equipment, which Coastline was awarded in April, is valued at some $168,000.
“It’s fantastic that we’re able to get at this Topsail Beach project that’s been in the works for quite a while,” said Mayor Darrin Bent. “We’re spending a fair bit of money to do it, but to do it right is the real thing and to do it so that it’s an inclusive surface, a rubberized surface underneath, much like the community park (in Long Pond), is the right way to do it. So, I’m very pleased to support this motion tonight.”
