Disappointed at having to sit this one out

Dear Editor:

I am a traditional conservative, not a Progressive Conservative, not a Reform Party Conservative, just a conservative.
I went from being a Tommy Douglas NDPer to a Clyde Wells Liberal (because of his moral stand against the Meech Lake Accord) to a Stephen Harper Conservative (sorry Danny but I liked you too).
During the Trudeau, the Younger & Dumber years, I saw my country become completely lost. Forced pronouns, forced vax mandates, fathers not allowed to spend time with their families when they came home on a work rotation, elderly people dying alone, people being fired because they wouldn’t take an experimental drug, wokeism gone completely insane, multiple genders, gender affirming child care, and the way the truckers were treated because they had the audacity to protest. Truckers who at the beginning of covid fed us but were refused service in restaurants. Truckers who were called racists and Nazis, then had their bank accounts frozen.
Then there were the alleged ethical violations by our PM, and stories about a young reporter out west and questions of why our intrepid PM left his teaching job in the middle of a semester many years ago.
None of it covered very well as our media outlets are closer to the Soviet’s Pravda or Tass now. Being propped up financially by this government has strings attached.
I had completely given up on my country until Pierre Poilievre came along. Young, intelligent, erudite and with traditional political values that coincide with my own. I love the way he handles the leftist media. People of common sense gravitated towards him, and I could see some hope for the country.
When our little drama teacher finally decided to leave the spotlight, I knew the next sycophant would call a snap election and so the globalist did exactly that.
This gave me hope that my district would get a very competent Conservative candidate or two and two fine people came forward.
Then, out of the blue, they were dropped from the nomination race in favour of Steve Kent! Steve Kent who spent his last couple of political years kissing up to Kathy Dunderdale in hopes of getting a cabinet position. Steve Kent who went to work for the City of Mount Pearl at a very impressive salary only to have that blow up in his face and now is still in legal chaos. Who in their right mind would ever vote for this guy and who in their right mind would just hand him the nomination? I can’t vote for this guy.
What choice do I have now? Paul Connors who was Ken MacDonald’s assistant? MacDonald who called for a leadership review of Trudeau only to change his mind the very next day? I don’t know Paul Connors, but I know he wants to drive ATVs all over CBS. I know he worked for MacDonald, so he was part of that Liberal government that has destroyed my country.
I am in political limbo. I can’t vote for Kent as my limited conscience won’t allow it. I can never vote for radical leftist Liberals or the NDP.
All I can hope for is a Poilievre victory but for me I have to sit this one out. I cannot vote for the least of three evils.
Thank you, Mr. Editor.
