Members of CBS council took time at the start of a recent public meeting to congratulate the winners of last month’s Kelligrews Soiree 8K road race which drew a field of 200 registrants. On hand for the acknowledgement and presentation of trophies were…

the winner in the female 19 to 30 age group Samantha Howlett with Ward 1 councillor Shelley Moores.
The female winner in the 31 to 40 age category and the overall fastest woman on the course, clocking in just behind the fastest man, Brittany Fitzgerald accompanied by her son Owen and councillor-at-large Joshua Barrett.
Braydon Evans, the male 13 to 18 age group winner and councillor Moores.
The winner of the male 19 to 30 group and the overall fastest runner of the race, Alex Whalen.

The other winners included Evelyn Burrell in the female 12 and under category; female 13 to 18 Chloe Jackson; male 31 to 40 Tim Murphy; Damian Fitzpatrick 41 to 50 male; female 41 to 50 Sherry Squires; female 51 to 60 Michelle Best; male 51 to 60 Chris Cox; female 61 and over Joan Hartery; and male 61 and over Lloyd Dawe.
