Distribution delay

Due to an operational challenge at the Oceanex terminal in St. John’s, the shipping container with the September 24, 2026 edition of The Shoreline News has not yet been delivered to our agent for unpacking. The container has been at the terminal in St. John’s since Tuesday evening, and we are awaiting confirmation on when it will be available for delivery.  We sincerely apologize to our readers and advertisers for the delay and will begin distribution as soon as we receive the shipment.

This marks the second week of delays affecting our delivery. The September 17 edition of The Shoreline News was also delayed and did not make its scheduled sailing. Last week, we incurred the added expense of a second printing run in Montreal and flew the newspapers in by Air Cargo to ensure the papers were available in distribution areas where advertisers needed their notices circulated by a required date.  We apologize for these delays; we are continuing to work hard to line up a facility, press and financing to reestablish a newspaper printing press in Newfoundland.

Up to now, the service provided by Oceanex has been exemplary, with a high standard of reliability and consistency.  We understand Oceanex is currently implementing a new Terminal Operating System at its St. John’s terminal, which has temporarily affected some terminal operations and contributed to this week’s delay.
