— PARADISE —

  • Paradise Rotary Youth – Community Centre. Paradise 50+ Adventure Club Card Game, Bingo, 50/50 and Door Prize every Thursday at 1:30 p.m. Darts every Monday at 1:30 p.m. For further information about our club and our programs, please call 709 730-0950.

— CONCEPTION BAY SOUTH —

  • The Age Friendly Club will be having a game of cards (8) at the Worsley Park Building on Mondays at 1:30 p.m. If you are lonely and would like to get out for an afternoon and play a friendly game of cards, meet other people and make friends. Cost $2. If you don’t have money to spare or don’t have a ride, give me a call, maybe we can work something out. Please bring your own cards and baskets.   • Worsley Park: Tuesday night cards at 8 p.m., Wednesday afternoon cards at 2 p.m., every second Thursday Bingo at 2 p.m., Friday darts at 2 p.m. Open Mic Night on July 6th, doors open at 6 p.m.
  • The Kiwanis Club of Kelligrews is offering a resource centre for new Canadians, Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Assistance with job search, resumes, locating housing and more. Join us at 925 CBS Highway.
  • Come help us celebrate Orangeman’s Day. The Glorious Twelfth on Friday, July 12th at the Orange Hall in Foxtrap on the Lodge Road. Soup, sandwiches, tea or coffee and a game of cards all for $7. Card prizes and door prize. Some parking available at the lower level parking lot at All Saints Parish Hall.
  • Ways and Means Committee of All Saints Parish are hosting an outdoor Flea Market on Saturday, July 13th. 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Burgers, Hot Dogs, and Soda will be sold from 12 noon – 1:30 p.m. You can rent a Table for $15 or 2 Tables for $25.   • The Flower Services for Topsail United Church Cemeteries at Long Pond and Upper Gullies have been rescheduled to Sunday July 21, Upper Gullies at 2 P.M. And Long Pond at 3 p.m.
  • All Saints Flower Service will be held at Dunns Hill Road Cemetery on Sunday, July 28th, starting at 2 p.m, and the Church Road Cemetery Service will be Sunday August 4th, Starting at 2 p.m. If the scheduled Sunday has inclement weather, the service will be moved to the next evening starting at 7 p.m.

— HOLYROOD —

  • The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 64 Holyrood – Every 2nd Sunday has a Sunday Matinee Featuring Local Talent from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Come and join us for a day of friendship and listening to music.
  • “Star of the Sea, Holyrood will be hosting adult dances every Wednesday night from July 3rd to August 28th inclusive. Come join us on July 3rd Doors open at 8:30 p.m. Admission $10.00. Music by Tony Thompson, Mainline.”

  • Chase the Ace by the Cape Broyle Church Committee. At Riverside Restaurant and Lounge. Ticket sales Sunday from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Draw at 7:45 p.m. Also 50/50 tickets on sale. Jackpot starts off at $14,294.00 this week, July 14th.

— ST. JOHN’S —

  • The St. John’s Retired Citizens Association on Bennett Avenue have some spaces available in the senior’s choir on Wednesdays at 12:15, low impact exercise group on Tuesdays from 4:30- 5:30 and Nia ageless grace movement exercise group on Thursdays from 3:15-4:15.
