Tilley pleased with Holyrood’s soccer registration numbers

Holyrood’s refurbished soccer field looks to get a lot of use this summer.
Councillor Mabel Tilley said last week that 98 children have registered for the Town’s soccer program.
“That is a phenomenal number of kids for a community of our size to be participating in soccer, which is a great sport for getting you out running around,” she said.
Tilley thanked the local Tim Horton’s franchise for supporting the program for children eight years of age and under with uniforms, soccer balls and medals.
“That’s great for any families out there that need support, especially for getting in sports,” she added.
Also on the subject of recreation, Tilley noted all of the beds in the Town’s community garden have been rented.
“Public Works (workers) have been hard at work getting the planters all ready,” Tilley said. “All we need now is to continue with the warm weather and some sunshine, and no frost… and hopefully we’ll be able to get our gardens growing nicely.”
