— PARADISE —

  • Paradise Rotary Youth – Community Centre. Paradise 50+ Adventure Club Card Game, Bingo, 50/50 and Door Prize every Thursday at 1:30 p.m. Darts every Monday at 1:30 p.m. For further information about our club and our programs, please call 709 730-0950.

— CONCEPTION BAY SOUTH—

  • The annual World Day of Prayer service will be held March 1, 2024 at 7 p.m. Friday night at St. John the Evangelist church in Topsail. All are welcome, men women and children! The theme this year is “I Beg You…Bear with One Another in Love” and was written by a group of Ecumenical Christian Palestinian Women.
  • Free Wellness Clinic Tuesday March 5; 7:00 p.m. at Lions Club House, 10 Minerals Road, CBS; sponsored by Avalon Northeast Rotary. Nurses check blood pressure, weight and blood sugar levels.   • Open Mic at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 50 Kelligrews on March 8th. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Music starts at 7:30 p.m. $5 at the door. And join us on Saturday, March 16th for a Dance. Starts at 9 p.m. Doors open at 8 p.m. Music by Bart and Marion McCarthy. $10 the door.
    St. Peter’s, Upper Gulllies Men’s Service Club will holding a take-out Fish ‘n Brewis dinner, complete with dessert on Saturday, March 9th. Cost is just $20.00.   • Worsley Park: Tuesday night cards at 8 p.m., Wednesday afternoon cards at 2 p.m., every second Thursday Bingo at 2 p.m., Friday darts at 2 p.m.

— HOLYROOD —

  • Branch 64 of the Royal Canadian Legion, Holyrood will be hosting the Area General Meeting on Sunday, March 3rd at 2 p.m., for nominations and appointments. Darts that would normally fall on Good Friday has been moved to March 27. Upcoming Event: March 30th Jamie Murphy Memorial Dart Tournament. Mixed teams of 5 players and starts at 10 a.m.
  • The Holyrood MGA 50+ Club will hold a Dinner and Dance at the Legion in Holyrood on March 2 at 7:00 p.m. Mary Browns, salads and dessert. Music by Contraband. Price $20 for members and $25 for non members. For tickets call Mary at 229-7850 or Sadie at 229-4094. Deadline Feb. 26.

— SOUTHERN SHORE —

  • Return of Chase the Ace by the Cape Broyle Church Committee. Starting Jackpot $2,592.00 Sunday, February 18th at Riverside Restaurant and Lounge. Ticket sales from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Draw at 7:45 p.m. Also 50/50 tickets on sale.

— ST. MARY’S BAY —

  • Variety Concert, Royal Canadian Legion Riverhead S.M.B., Saturday, March 9th. Doors open 7 p.m. Concert starts 8 p.m. Admission $10. Music, Skits, Lip Syncs. 19 years and older. Dance to follow. Music by Kevin Butler.
