Council acknowledges closure of Spaniard’s Bay medical clinic

Spaniard’s Bay council has voted to formalize the closure of the Spaniard’s Bay Medical Clinic by removing it from the Town’s tax roll.
Council made the decision last month.
Dr. Ghalib Abulomrain, who had worked out of the clinic since 2020, and had some 1,600 patients, announced the closure of the clinic in late October.
“It’s sad to see the clinic close,” said Mayor Paul Brazil. “Hospitals can’t get doctors. Clinics are having an even tougher time.”
The motion passed unanimously.
Dr. Abulomrain has since relocated to Cove Medical Clinic in Portugal Cove.
