Bain, along with Ryan Davis, Donnie Hodder and Kevin Downey came up from St. John’s to spend Thanksgiving Day enjoying the big surf on the southern Avalon. The surfers have been coming to the area for the past 10 years, said Downey, who noted the waves on display this week only happen about once a year.
