There are more and more people riding the bus in Paradise.
Metrobus ridership was discussed at a recent planning committee meeting, and chairperson Deputy Mayor Kimberley Street touched on the subject briefly at council last week in response to a question posed by councillor Larry Vaters.
“There has been a significant increase in Metrobus ridership,” said Street in response to Vater’s question. “Since the spring of 2022, the numbers have shown to have not only recovered from pre-COVID figures, but each month this year has set a record compared to the corresponding months in all years since starting in 2016.”
Street said Metrobus would be giving a presentation at a future committee meeting, and that ‘on-demand service’ would be a part of that discussion.
While most Metrobus routes are limited to St. John’s, the bus also serves Paradise and Mount Pearl.
