Bay Roberts resident throws some heat at council decision

Bay Roberts appears to be saving thousands by choosing propane over heat pumps (to heat the Fire Hall). This is very likely, penny wise and dollar foolish. A google search indicates that an average home can expect heat pumps to save more than $900 per year over oil and $800 per year over propane. I expect the Fire Hall uses more energy than an average home. Make no wonder they received such deal sweeteners. The extra upfront cost would have been paid for in four to five years. Instead they will pay dearly for many years.
