Friday, Nov. 30, 2:30-4:30pm and Saturday, Dec.1, 10:30am-12:30pm: Young Scientist: Light.Tis the season for twinkling lights and candles, so beam on over to Manuels River to see how they shine. No pre-registration required. Parent or guardian must attend with children. This program is designed for children aged 4 to 7 years old. NEW! Young Scientists that attend 5 programs earn their Level 1 Young Scientist crest.

Wednesday, Dec. 5, 10-11am: Little Explorers. Come along for an engaging and interactive hour of stories, songs, activities and play, as we learn about the world around us. $7 per child or free with membership (parent(s) or guardian(s) free). No pre-registration required. This program is designed for children 2 to 4 years old and their caregivers. NEW! Little Explorers earn a sticker every time they attend and work towards a special sticker after 5 programs.

Thursday, Dec. 6, 7pm: Game of Thrones Trivia Night. Winter is coming and so is Game of Thrones Trivia to Manuels River! There will be prizes, snacks and bar service available. Pre-registration is recommended for this event, maximum of 6 people per team, tickets are $10+HST per person and can be purchased by calling 834-2099 ext. 206. This is a 19+ event, valid ID required. All tickets are non-refundable.

Saturday, Dec. 8, 10:00am: The Kiwanis Club of Kelligrews Christmas Parade. This season, it’ll be a winter wonderland at Manuels River, so look for the staff, friends, and woodland critters of Manuels River in the procession before the big guy himself! Sunday, Dec. 9, 1pm & 3pm: Merry & Bright Christmas Concert. Kick-off your holiday season with the students of Ovation Music Studio! Join us for some “merry and bright” music played on piano, drums, ukulele, guitar, and sung by singers of all ages. All are welcome – the more, the merrier! Admission is free, but we invite you to bring along a non-perishable food item in support of the CBS/Paradise Community Food Bank.

Sunday, Dec. 9, 2:00-3:30pm: Coding Club. Offered in partnership with Kids Code Jeunesse, kids will learn basic concepts of coding and computational thinking through fun, collaborative, exercises using Scratch and Micro:bits. Free. This program is designed for children aged 7 to 11 years old. Pre-registration required and space is limited. Call 834-2099 ext. 206 to reserve a spot. Please Note: You will need your own laptop.

Monday, Dec. 10 and Tuesday, Dec. 11, 6:30-9pm: Foraged Wreaths Workshop. Relax with a glass of wine as you learn how to make your own biodegradable Christmas wreaths from all-natural materials found in our local forests. Workshop is $25+HST per person, materials and glass of wine included. 19+ event. Pre-registration required. Space is limited. Call 834-2099 ext. 206 to register.

Friday, Dec. 14, 3:00-4:30pm or SAT, Dec 15, 10:30-12:00pm: Young Scientist: O Christmas Tree. All along the banks of Manuels River, in the boreal forest, stand “happy little trees”. Come and see our Tannenbaums in all their glory and find out how the “magniferous” coniferous stay green, even in the depth of winter. No pre-registration required. Parent or guardian must attend with children. This program is designed for children aged 4 to 7 years old. NEW! Young Scientists that attend 5 programs earn their Level 1 Young Scientist crest.

Saturday, Dec. 15 Gift Store Christmas Sale 20% off everything in store, members receive their additional 10% off. 9:30 am to 5:00 pm.

Sunday, Dec. 16, 2-3:30pm: Palaeontology Club: December Dinosaurs! Come join Palaeontologist Dr. Rod Taylor for an interactive session about the history of life on Earth. We’ll talk about how fossils form, and look at some of the organisms that have been preserved over the past 700 million years. $7 per participant. No pre-registration required. Parent/guardian may attend, but are not required. This program is designed for children aged 7 to 11 years old. NEW! Palaeontology Club members that attend 3 programs earn their Slate Palaeontology Club crest.

Thursday, Dec. 20, 7pm: Dinner & A Movie. Date night? girls’ night? or just a fun night out? We’ve got you covered at Manuels River, enjoy a delicious three-course dinner by Coffee Matters followed by a movie in our state-of-the-art Theatre. Vote for the festive film you want featured on our Facebook event page! Tickets are just $30+HST, and must be purchased in advance by December 18. Call 834-2099 ext. 206 to reserve your spot. Bar service will be available, this is a 19+ event, valid ID required. All tickets are non-refundable.

Friday, Dec. 21, 7:30pm: Four Seasons Winter Solstice Concert. Join us as we celebrate the coming of Winter to Manuels River with a performance of the Winter Movements from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons and other seasonal inspired selections by the Young Virtuosi of the Suzuki Talent Education Program, along with special musical guests. This event is the fourth in a series of seasonal concerts. Pre-registration recommended. Call 834-2099 ext. 206 to reserve a spot. $15+HST per adult, $8+HST per youth/senior/student.

Monday, Dec. 31, 7pm: New Year’s Eve Dinner & Dance. Ring in the New Year alongside picturesque Manuels River. Come enjoy a delightful three course meal and dance your way into 2019 with live entertainment by The Phantom 4! Tickets: $110+HST and available by calling 834-2099 ext. 206. Tickets must be purchased in advance by 5pm on Friday, December 21. This is a 19+ event, valid ID required.
