Paradise approves facility cleaning contract at $421,000 per year

The Town of Paradise will have clean facilities in 2023 and 2024.

Staff issued a tender call in December for a two-year cleaning contract for all Town facilities with a provision to renew the agreement for two more one-year periods.

Staff received seven submissions, ranging from $370,000 to $816,000.

Councillor Deborah Quilty noted the bid submitted by Sky Blue Services did not qualify, and so the Town awarded the contract to the next lowest bidder, Kelloway Construction Ltd., at a price of $421,000, HST included.

Quilty noted the annual cleaning cost is less than the $474,000 staff budgeted for cleaning in 2023.

Council unanimously approved the motion.
