Butler sings Rooftopper’s praises

A salute to Steve Porter from his peers for his efforts to professionalize the home construction industry has not escaped the notice of Conception Bay South council.

Councillor-at-large Christine Butler informed council last month that Porter, who owns S&L Porter Homes, recently received an award from the Newfoundland and Labrador branch of the Canadian Home Builders Association during its annual awards banquet.

Porter was named the Rooftopper of the Year.

“This award is presented to the member who recruits the most members to the association throughout the year,” Butler explained. “Receiving this award speaks to the growth of the construction sector and is a testament to his vision and longevity as a homebuilder and business owner in a dynamic and competitive industry. Congratulations Steve and thank you for being such a proud ambassador within our town.”
