CBS compiling registry of volunteers

By Craig Westcott/December 2, 2022

The Town of CBS is putting together a registry of people to serve as volunteers for Town organized events.

“This will be an opportunity for residents to apply to be a volunteer with the Town on an ongoing basis and stay up to date on current volunteer opportunities,” said Recreation committee chairperson Shelley Moores. “It will also provide an opportunity for students, who require volunteer hours, to receive information on opportunities to fulfill their volunteer hours.”

Moores, who is the councillor for Ward 1, said residents can apply on online or by submitting a paper copy of the form to the Town’s Recreation department.

“A (police) Certificate of Conduct and a Vulnerable Sector Check will also be required of all applicants,” she added.

Moores noted the Town is also looking for volunteers “with community spirit and passion” to help with event planning for the 2023 Winterfest planning committee.

The deadline for those interested in that work was November 25.
