CONCEPTION BAY SOUTH

Our annual fall fair at St.  John the Evangelist Church, Topsail.  Nov. 12, 9:30 a.m. until 2 p.m.  Variety of booths and tables. Morning coffee 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Lunch 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m..  Admission $2.00.

Worsley Park 50+ Club: Tuesday nights cards at 8:00 pm, Wednesday afternoon cards at 2:00 pm; Darts every Friday at 2:00 pm.

Topsail United Church will be Holding a Fall and Christmas Bake Sale, Saturday Nov. 19 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the church hall. All are Welcome.

Coastal Sounds Choir Association will be holding rehearsals for our Upcoming Christmas Cantata.  The rehearsals dates are Nov 5.12.19. 26 and Dec 3 and 10.  Cost $25.  Rehearsals will be held at Topsail United Church. from 2 until 4 P.M.  Please register on our Facebook page  https://www.facebook.com/CoastalSoundsChoir

All Saints Parish Fall Fair November 11th starting at 12 noon.  Soup and sandwiches 12 noon – 2 p.m. crafts, bake sale, ticket draws, kids games, grab bags, etc.  Hot Roast Beef Supper at 5pm followed by a card game.  Meal cost $15.00 plus $5.00 for cards.  Admission is a donation of cash or a non-perishable food item for the Food Bank.  Your attendance for supper must be booked in advance by calling; Aura 682-3775, Enid 682-9367 or Carol 834-2284.

St. Thomas of Villanova, CWL will be having a Card Game on Monday, November 21 at 7:30 P.M. in the Parish Hall. Admission is $5.00. Bring your own cards and baskets and enjoy a night out with friends.

Topsail United Church Men’s Club will be holding a takeout Flipper Dinner on Monday, November 21, pick up will be from 4:30 until 6 P.M., Cost $25.  To reserve please call the Church Office at 834-4567, between 9 A.M. until 12 Noon. 

CONCEPTION BAY CENTRE

November 12th at 900 pm there will be a dance at the Star Of The Sea Holyrood.  Admission $10.00

The Holyrood MGA 50+Club will hold their annual Christmas dinner and dance at the Royal Canadian Legion  Holyrood on Friday, December 2. Hot turkey dinner. Music by the Coles. Members $20. Non members $30.For tickets call Mary at 229-7850 or Sadie at 229-4094. Deadline for tickets is Nov. 28th.

Mount Pearl

The following events are taking place at the Parish of the Ascension, 58 Smallwood Drive, Mt. Pearl On-line Auction, November 6 – 12, Please see the Facebook page “Parish of the Ascension Online Fall Auction”, beginning November Afternoon Card Party, Monday, November 7 at 2 p.m. Please bring your own cards and baskets. Tea and coffee will be provided. Admission is $6 per person Fall Dinner, November 18, at 6:30, tickets are $25. Meal consists of stuffed chicken breast with all the trimmings (catered by Pat Burton). There will be a bake sale, 50/50 tickets and a door prize. Entertainment too! Country Christmas Concert, December 2, featuring musical entertainment by Ladylike, Darren Martin and The Ascension Choir. Tickets are $25. Breakfast with Santa, December 10 at 9 a.m. in the auditorium. Tickets are $6 each. Please contact the church office for tickets – 368-5693.

Church of the Ascension, 58 Smallwood Drive, Mt. Pearl, is hosting A Country Christmas Concert on Friday, December 2, at 7 p.m., featuring the musical group LadyLike (Karla Pilgrim, Terri Lynn Eddy and Carole Besvater) with special guests Darrin Martin and the Ascension Choir. Tickets are $25 and are on sale now and are available at the church office, Monday to Friday 9 – 12 noon.

St. Mary’s Bay

Remembrance Day Ceremony, R.C.L Branch 62, Riverhead ,St. Mary’s Bay, Friday November 11. Parade forms 10:30 am at Branch. All Veterans are welcome to participate in Parade. Wreath laying and service at War Memorial immediately after Parade. Any organizations or individuals who wish to lay wreath please submit information to Legion at 525-2712 by Thursday, November 10th. Soup/ Sandwiches Tea/Coffee to follow service back at Branch. All welcome. 

Christmas Craft Fair Royal Canadian Legion Branch 62, Riverhead St Mary’s Bay. Saturday, November 19th 10 a.m. til 3 p.m. Admission $2.    Over 25 tables. Canteen available Soup/Chili Sandwiches Tea/Coffee.

Dance , Royal Canadian Legion Riverhead St. Mary’s Bay, Music by Heartland Band, Saturday November 12th, doors open 9 pm. dance starts 10 pm, $10 admission , 19 years and older.

ST. JOHN’S

THE 18: A Come Home Concert of Remembrance. Join us for a free concert on Remembrance Day, Friday, November 11 at 2:00pm at The Basilica. This musical event features a new narrative about the children of London’s Beatrix Potter’s elementary school who uplift and illuminate the memory of 18 Newfoundlanders laid to rest in WW1. Musical performances include The Ennis Sisters, Petrina Bromley, The Royal Newfoundland Regiment and many performers and choirs.
