CONCEPTION BAY SOUTH

Theatre CBS is holding open auditions for A Christmas Carol the Radio Play by Philip Grecian. There are 6 male and 5 female adult roles, any age. You do not need a prepared audition piece. Auditions will be held in 30 minute time blocks. To request a time or inquire about the show email theatrecbs@gmail.com. Experience is not necessary. We are also seeking individuals interested in being part of the backstage crew.

Registration for the CBS Community Youth Choir is now ongoing. The choir is for residents of CBS and area in grades 3-12.  Please contact Andrea at info.cbsyc@gmail.com for more information or visit us on facebook. Rehearsals at Topsail United Church.

There will be a Kitchen Party at The Legion, Kelligrews on Saturday, Oct. 29 in aid of the LOL, Foxtrap. Music by Killin’ Time, Shamrock and the Cable Guys. Tickets $10 single. Call Reg at 834-4455 or Ken at 834-8181.

St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Upper Gullies Presents A Choir Concert in Support of people affected by Hurricane Fiona. 2p.m. Sunday October 30. Come and enjoy and afternoon of Church Music along with some popular selections to sing along to Admission by Freewill Offering Come and show your support.

Coastal Sounds Choir Association will be holding rehearsals for our Upcoming Christmas Cantata.  The rehearsals dates are Nov 5.12.19. 26 and Dec 3 and 10.  Cost $25.  Rehearsals will be held at Topsail United Church. from 2 until 4 P.M.

FALL FAIR  at St. Peters Anglican Parish ,CBS, November 5th . 10-12 am: Morning Coffee, Sale of Baked Goods and Gently Used Items. 5 pm :Take Out Cold Plates with Dessert.$15:00 at the door. All Saints Parish Fall Fair November 11th. starting at 12 noon.  Soup and sandwiches 12 noon – 2pm. crafts, bake sale, ticket draws, kids games, grab bags, etc.  Hot Roast Beef Supper at 5pm followed by a card game.  Meal cost $15.00 plus $5.00 for cards.  Admission is a donation of cash or a non-perishable food item for the Food Bank.  Your attendance for supper must be booked in advance by calling; Aura 682-3775, Enid 682-9367 or Carol 834-2284.

Ecumenical Prayer Service for The Ukraine In Newfoundland, Tuesday November 8 at
St. Peter’s Church, Upper Gullies 7:30p.m. Donations are invited of slightly used winter clothing for use by Ukrainian families now residing in Newfoundland that will be distributed by The Association for New Canadians Come, Pray, and show your Support. Clothing donations can be made at St. Peter’s Anglican Church 1219 CBS Hwy. CBS during business hours. For further Information Contact Rev. Bill Strong at 709-325-1278.

CONCEPTION BAY NORTH

Saturday, October 29th: The Carbonear Library Board is hosting a BIG Book Sale raising funds for the Library.  It will take place at the Princess Sheila Senior’s Building, 163 Water Street (next to Honda Town), from 10 am. –  4 pm. A wide selection includes Mysteries, Novels, Nfld. Books, Children’s Books, Romance, Science Fiction, Puzzles etc.  Please bring your own bag.

CONCEPTION BAY CENTRE

The MGA 50+Club will hold a cold plate dinner and dance at the Star of the Sea in Holyrood on October 21 at 7:00 p.m. Music by Brian Finn. For tickets call Mary at 229-7850 or Sadie at 229-4094. Deadline for tickets is October 17. Members $20. Non members $25

The Holyrood MGA 50+ Club will hold a card game at the Fire Hall on November 4th at 1:30 p.m.

The following events are taking place at the Parish of the Ascension, 58 Smallwood Drive, Mt. Pearl On-line Auction, November 6 – 12, Please see the Facebook page “Parish of the Ascension Online Fall Auction”, beginning November Afternoon Card Party, Monday, November 7 at 2 p.m. Please bring your own cards and baskets. Tea and coffee will be provided. Admission is $6 per person Fall Dinner, November 18, at 6:30, tickets are $25. Meal consists of stuffed chicken breast with all the trimmings (catered by Pat Burton). There will be a bake sale, 50/50 tickets and a door prize. Entertainment too! Country Christmas Concert, December 2, featuring musical entertainment by Ladylike, Darren Martin and The Ascension Choir. Tickets are $25. The Newfoundland and Labrador Stuttering Association (NLSA) is hosting a VIRTUAL …’a million things I need to say’ 1K/5K Walk, Run & Roll for Stuttering Awareness and Bursary Program Fundraiser on the weekend of October 22/23.  October 22 is also International Stuttering Awareness Day (ISAD).
