Cemetery committee appealing for info on possible unmarked graves

We would like to get some help concerning the news that we have received that there are some

graves present in St. Edward’s Cemetery in the extension part of the cemetery.

We are appealing to any of the community members who can help in providing reliable information

about the following issue of burial in the extension area of St. Edward’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, in Kelligrews, CBS.

Rumours have circulated that (in past years) due to restrictions of guidelines for burial in the cemetery, some parishioners were not able to be buried in the cemetery. In these cases, it is believed that families would bury their loved ones as close to the cemetery as possible. Therefore, they (may have) buried their family’s loved ones in the extension area of the cemetery.
