New coffee shop coming to Carbonear

by Mark Squibb/July 8, 2022

There’s a new cup of java coming to Carbonear, though details are scarce at the moment.

During the June 21 public meeting, council unanimously approved an application for a coffee shop complete with drive-thru at 123 Columbous Drive conditional upon obtaining approvals from Service NL and any other appropriate government bodies.

There was little discussion of the application, but in a follow up e-mail to the Town, CAO Cynthia Davis said the applicant is Daniel Johnson Architect Inc.

The Shoreline reached out to the Toronto based business but received no reply.

Council also approved a request to install signage at 123 Columbous Drive (a request from Montreal Neon, according to Davis) and a request for interior renovations to relocate Satellite Vet Clinic in the building conditional upon approvals from Service NL and other applicable departments. The other end of the building operates as the Carbonear branch of the Baccalieu Trail Animal Hospital.

Those requests were also approved unanimously.
