Police catch up with late night ATV joyrider

A late night, early morning joy ride through the streets of CBS ended up being a costly trip for the 35-year-old ATV driver Friday, March 18.

Police investigated after getting a complaint about someone driving an ATV westbound on Manuels Bridge in the wee hours of the morning. By 2:00 a.m., they had apprehended the 35-year-old male driver, who is from the Fowler’s Road area.

According to the RNC’s morning police report, “The responding officer was able to detain the operator who had gotten stuck as he tried to flee from police.”

The man was detained and issued several Summary Offence tickets. He was also charged with Dangerous Driving and Flight from Police. He was released to appear in court at a later date. The ATV was seized.
