Postal delivery resumes in Spaniard’s Bay

By Mark Squibb/December 30, 2021

After a disruption in postal service following the sudden closure of the Spaniard’s Bay Post Office near the beginning of December (just in time for the Christmas holidays) postal delivery in town is set to resume.

Canada Post announced on December 23 that, in collaboration with the Town of Spaniard’s Bay, folks will be able to pick up their mail at the Spaniards’ Bay Town Hall parking lot beginning January 4.

Residents can pick up their new mailbox keys at the Town Hall beginning on December 29.

Pick up dates are determined by your P.O. Box number. Residents with numbers one to 400 can pick up their keys on December 29, 401 to 750 on December 30, and 751 to 1084 on December 31. Any remaining keys can be picked up January 4.

Keys not picked up by January 4 will be held at the Harbour Grace Post Office beginning January 5.

Mail left uncollected at the Harbour Grace Post Office, where Spaniard’s Bay mail had been rerouted during the three-week shut down, will be delivered to the Spaniard’s Bay postal boxes.
