Holyrood calls Canada Post about mailbox conerns

By Mark Squibb/December 30, 2021

It’s the Christmas season, when things are merry and bright— except the for the bank of mailboxes at Murray’s Peak it seems.

Holyrood councilor Bruce King shed a little light on residents’ concerns about a lack of adequate lighting at the mailboxes.

“Basically, it’s the responsibility of Canada Post to make sure that there’s adequate lighting anywhere where they set up their mailboxes,” said King. “So, we’ve talked with Canada Post, we’ve told them our concerns, and hopefully they will be able to address it. And that would also apply to any other large groups of mailboxes that are in the town. If people feel that it’s not lighted adequately enough, especially people going to the mailbox at night after they come home from work, then the best thing to do is to contact Canada Box and express your concerns.”
