More room on All Saints for traffic, pedestrians to come marching in

A recent purchase by the Town of Conception Bay South will make way for a small quality of life improvement.

At council’s regular meeting Tuesday night, councillor Rex Hillier raised the matter of a property that had recently fallen under ownership of the town.

Hillier made a motion to enter into a purchase and sale agreement for the land on All Saints Road for $39,900.

By taking this Foxtrap property under its wing, the Town will be able to make way for future infrastructure work in the area, said Hillier.

That infrastructure work relates mostly to the road that it falls on. The property, situated on the corner of All Saints Road and Ocean View Road, was once host to a building that has since been taken out of the picture after a fire.

“The intersecting street has a very narrow exit. It’s a narrow street, and we’ll be using this to widen that street and make it safer,” Hillier said.

Mayor Terry French allowed people in the area will be happy to hear the news, given just how difficult that section of road can be for drivers.

Hillier’s motion was carried unanimously.
