New assisted living homes may be coming to Paradise

By Mark Squibb | Vol. 32 No. 47 (Jan. 30, 2020)

A new assisted living housing complex, designed to house 100 residents, may be coming to Topsail Road in Paradise.

The application will be advertised, and will return to council following advertisement for approval, as per council’s unanimous approval during a Jan. 22 council meeting.

Councillor Patrick Martin inquired as to whether there was an indication of the cost of rental units and wondered of they would be affordable for lower-income seniors.

Mayor Dan Bobbett said it was pre-mature to wonder about sale prices, but that he didn’t think that the units were low-income.

Clients of assisted living housing are typically seniors, but not exclusively.
