Thursday, Nov. 1, 7pm: The Big Bang Theory Trivia Night. Tighten your thinking cap, throw on your favourite marvel t-shirt and join us for The Big Bang Theory Trivia Night at Manuels River! There will be prizes, snacks and bar service available. Pre-registration is recommended for this event, maximum of 6 people per team, tickets are $10+HST per person and can be purchased by calling 834-2099 ext. 206. This is a 19+ event, valid ID required. All tickets are non-refundable.

Friday, Nov. 2, 2:30-4:30pm and Saturday, Nov.3, 10:30am-12:30pm: Young Scientist: No bones about it. Wriggle over to Manuels River to discover the world of the slimy, squishy, squirmy, and spineless. Find out how they live without bones. No pre-registration required. Parent or guardian must attend with children. This program is designed for children aged 4 to 7 years old. NEW! Young Scientists that attend 5 programs earn their Level 1 Young Scientist crest.

Tuesday, Nov. 6, 6:30-8pm: Pre-teen Spiderman LEGO night. Looking for a fun, new LEGO challenge? Join us for a Spiderman LEGO build with Bricks 4 Kidz. This program is suitable for ages 10 to 12 years old. Pre-registration required. Space is limited. Call 834-2099 ext 206 to reserve a spot. $13 per person.

Wednesday, Nov. 7, 10-11am: Little Explorers. Come along for an engaging and interactive hour of stories, songs, activities and play, as we learn about the world around us. $7 per child or free with membership (parent(s) or guardian(s) free). No pre-registration required. This program is designed for children 2 to 4 years old and their caregivers. NEW! Little Explorers earn a sticker every time they attend and work towards a special sticker after 5 programs.

Friday, Nov. 9, 2pm: School Break Afternoon Movie: Night at the Museum (2006, PG, 108min). Join us for a movie in our comfortable theatre. Screening is $5 per person or free for members. No pre-registration required. Children under 11 years old must attend with a parent/guardian.
Saturday, Nov. 10, 2-3:30pm: Introduction to Coding and Robotics. Learn some of the basics of coding as you try to get a robot to do what you want. Let’s Talk Science volunteers will be here to show us how it’s done. $7 per person or free with membership. Pre-registration required and space is limited. Parent/guardian may attend with children, but are not required to stay. This program is designed for children aged 7 to 11 years old.

Saturday, Nov. 10: NL Kids Christmas Toy & Gift Shoppe 2018 Manuels River gift store will be at the Holiday Inn in St. John’s for the NL Kids Christmas Toy and Gift Shoppe.

Sunday, Nov. 11: The Manuels River Hibernia Interpretation Centre is closed in observance of Remembrance Day.

Monday, Nov. 12, 2pm: School Break Afternoon Movie: Madagascar (2005, PG, 86min). Join us for a movie in our comfortable theatre. Screening is $5 per person or free for members. No pre-registration required. Children under 11 years old must attend with a parent/guardian.

Wednesday, Nov. 14, 7pm: Quantum Yoga: A look at yoga practices through the lens of modern day quantum physics discoveries. Everyday a new study once again shows how effective meditation and yoga can be in improving and maintaining physical and mental wellness. None of this however would have been news to ancient yogis who have not only been saying this for a few thousand years, but have been describing the universe in ways that were a little too crazy to be true…at least until now. Join Bobby Bessey for a fun lecture that attempts to marry yoga meditation teachings with the most recent discoveries of quantum physics. Warning, be prepared to forget everything you think you know about the nature of your existence! No yoga or meditation experience needed to enjoy and benefit from this session. We will be sitting in comfortable chairs, and no special clothing is required. No pre-registration required. Admission by donation only.

Friday, Nov. 16, 2:30-4:30pm and Saturday, Nov.17, 10:30am-12:30pm: Young Scientist: Migration. Winter is coming, days are getting shorter, and food is getting harder to find. When the going gets tough, sometimes the tough get going. No pre-registration required. Parent or guardian must attend with children. This program is designed for children aged 4 to 7 years old. NEW! Young Scientists that attend 5 programs earn their Level 1 Young Scientist crest.

Sunday, Nov. 18, 2-3:30pm: Palaeontology Club: Life in the Ancient Oceans. Come join palaeontologist Dr. Rod Taylor for an interactive session about the history of life on Earth. We’ll talk about how fossils form, and look at some of the organisms that have been preserved over the past 700 million years. $7 per participant. No pre-registration required. Parent/guardian may attend, but are not required to stay. This program is designed for children aged 7 to 11 years old. NEW! Palaeontology Club members that attend 3 programs earn their Slate Palaeontology Club crest.

Sunday, Nov. 18, 12pm-5pm: Fall Art Exhibit with Studio 5ive. Join us for a beautiful showcase of some amazing local talent from Studio 5ive arts group. Local artists will be on site from 12-5pm, all art will be available for purchase with a portion of the proceeds going to support the Manuels River Natural Heritage Society. Admission is FREE.

Sunday, Nov. 18 – Sunday, Nov. 25, 5:30pm/6:30pm/7:30pm/8:30pm/9:30pm: Manuels River Escape Room. We’ve teamed up with Escape Quest to bring a unique escape room experience to Manuels River! Round up your team (up to 15 players per game) and see if you can solve the puzzles and beat the clock to escape in the fastest time. This interactive escape scenario will provide a thrilling combination of challenge, entertainment and teamwork. Admission is $25+HST, you can register in advance by calling 834-2099 ext. 206. All bookings are non-refundable.
